Supervillain Playlists
As a bonus for my adoring readers, I've decided to add a playlist set for my heroes and antiheroes! Basically, music is one of the ways we define ourselves and I thought it would provide some insight into how they view the world. Also, it would be nice to share some great tunes as well! Feel free to leave a comment in your review about what you think would be a song a character would listen to.
Gary Karkofsky AKA Merciless: The Supervillain without Mercy's Playlist
Gary's favorite songs are a collection of Eighties pop rock, novelty songs, and a few Halloween themed music that reminds people he's actually quite a bit dangerous. Perhaps the most meaningful of the songs to him is No. #7 as it is his and Mandy's song. No. #10 is also the closest to defining him as a hero. He's really not as stupid as he appears to be.
1. "Holding out for A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler
2. "Everybody wants to rule the World" by Tears for Fears
3. "I Want it All" by Queen
4. "When you're Evil" by Voltaire
5. "Super Villain" by Powerman 5000
6. "Villain Song" by Kirby Krackle
7. "I would do anything for love" by Meatloaf
8. "I Fought the Law (and the Law Won)" by The Clash
9. "Dare to be Stupid" by Weird Al
10. "Nobody's Fool" by Kenny Loggins
11. "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult
12. "No One Lives Forever" by Oingo Boingo
Cindy Wackowski AKA Red Riding Hood's Playlist
Cindy shares some of Gary's taste for the Eighties but is a bit more modern with a fondness for artists from the Nineties and today. There's definitely a lot of self-awareness that she's a terrible person but she owns that. No. #10 is probably her anthem in that respect.
1. "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran
2. "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon
3. "Material Girl" by Madonna
4. "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" by Marilyn Monroe
5. "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" by Pink
6. "Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett
7. “Sweet But Psycho” by Ava Max
8. "Toxic" by Brittney Spears
9. "Crazy on You" by Heart
10. "You Call Me a Bitch Like It's A Bad Thing" by Halestorm
Mandy Karkofsky AKA Nighthuntress' Playlist
Mandy is a fan of Goth rock, hard rock, metal, and symphonic metal. In a better world, she would have been able to make a career in it herself but life got in the way. The one exception is No. #1 that represents Gary's influence on her. Also, No. #10 is how she views her relationship with the Karkofsky household.
1. "The Warrior" by Patty Smyth
2. "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by the Bauhaus
3. "Daughters of Darkness" by Halestorm
4. "Lucretia My Reflection" by The Sisters of Mercy
5. "Phantom of the Opera" by Nightwish
6. "Swamped" by Lacuna Coil
7. "If You Want Blood, You've Got it" by AC/DC
8. "Poison" by Alice Cooper
9. "Pet Semetary" by the Ramones
10. "Dance Macabre" by Ghost
Gabrielle Anders AKA Ultragoddess' Playlist
Gabrielle has an eclectic taste of Spanish as well as Caribbean music mixed with singers that look like her. She prefers uplifting, powerful, and enjoyable music. No. #1 makes her feel like her invulnerability is at immense cost, though. No. #9 lives rent free in her head due to the questions she has whether she's really making a difference.
1. "Titanium" by David Guetta
2. "Conga" by Miami Sound Machine
3. "La Rubia" by Charity Daw
4. "What's Love Got To Do With It?" by Tina Turner
5. "Just a Girl" by No Doubt
6. "Stronger" by Brittney Spears
7. "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keys
8. "I'm in love with a Criminal" by Brittney Spears
9. "We Don't Need Another Hero" by Tina Turner
10. "Invincible" by Pat Benetar
Diabloman's Playlist
I was wondering whether or not Diabloman would be listening to primarily Spanish language music but it occured to me that he would probably be a Eighties hard rock and metal fan. There's a distinctly infernal theme to his music but that's to be expected. No. #1 is also what I consider to be the theme song for Falconcrest City.
1. "This ain't no place for no hero [Short Change Hero]" by The Heavy
2. "Aint no Rest for the Wicked" by Cage the Elephant
3. "Sympathy for the Devil" by The Rolling Stones
4. "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC
5. "Runnin' with the Devil" by Van Halen
6. "Shout at the Devil" by Motley Crue
7. "The Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden
8. "Devil's Child" by Judas Priest
9. "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne
10. "Devil's Dance" by Metallica
