As mentioned in the Watching the Clock review, I mentioned I'm not exactly a big fan of the Star Trek Expanded Universe. It's not that I don't like what's written, it's just I've never really gotten into it.
I think part of the reason was, when I was really into Star Trek, the novels had almost zero inter-connectivity. Compared to the Star Wars Expanded Universe, where Luke Skywalker gets married to Mara Jade in one book and then goes on to have a bunch of adventures with Han and Leia's kids in a dozen others, it was markedly inferior.
So, by the time that I decided to get seriously into the Star Trek Expanded Universe (namely now), most of it had passed me on by. The exception, of course, was Star Trek: New Frontier which I have read the entirety of.
I read that, of course, because I'm a huge fan of Peter David and think it's the absolute bees knees. I'll eventually get around to re-reading it and reviewing it on my blog, but in the meantime I'm going to try and familiarize myself with other books in the vast Star Trek Expanded Universe.
I hope you'll follow me as I do so.
So here's my current schedule for reviews:
10/13/2011 Star Trek Titan: Taking Wing
10/15/2011 Star Trek Titan: The Red King
10/16/2011 Star Trek Titan: Orion's Hounds
10/18/2011 Ex-Patriots (Non-Star Trek)
10/18/2011 Star Trek Titan: Sword of Damocles
10/20/2011 Star Trek Online: The Needs of the Many
10/20/2011 The Vampire Apocalypse Series
10/21/2011 Memories of the Future part 1 (nonfiction)
10/23/2011 Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Millennium: The Fall of Terok Nor
Reviews, of course, are subject to change on my insane whims.
Hopefully, that will bring me up to the Star Trek: Destiny series.
